China's ChiNext Jumps 3% at Midday as Robot Stocks Surge
China’s A-share market opened higher and extended gains through the morning on Oct 28, with the ChiNext Index rising 3% by the midday break. The Shanghai Composite added 0.72% and the Shenzhen Component gained 1.99%, as robot-related stocks rallied broadly.
Fulai New Materials posted its fifth limit-up in eight trading sessions and set an all-time high. Ningbo Dongli, Wuzhou Xinchun, Wanxiang Qianchao and more than 10 other robot concept stocks also hit their daily limits, while Unitree Technology climbed more than 12%. The gains made robotics the morning’s clearest leadership group.
Semiconductor chip shares strengthened, with Fuhan Micro, Biyi Micro and Yingfang Micro among those hitting limit-up. PCB and other computing-hardware stocks rebounded, led by limit-up moves in Jin’an Guoji, Founder Technology and Shiyun Circuits.
On the downside, large financials pulled back, and Huaxin Shares and Ruida Futures touched limit-down intraday. Still, market breadth remained positive: more than 4,500 stocks across Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing advanced, while morning turnover reached 1.02 trillion yuan.
