Shanghai Action Plan Targets Core Components for Intelligent Manufacturing
The Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission has issued the Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of New-Generation Intelligent Manufacturing. The plan places core technology and foundational component breakthroughs at the center of the city's intelligent manufacturing push.
Focusing on common challenges across the key links of perception, control, execution and interconnection, the plan lists several core technologies to be tackled. These include distributed sensing, multimodal fusion governance, high-dynamic motion planning and control, ultra-precision processing improvement, industrial wireless real-time communication and edge intelligence integration.
At the component level, Shanghai will prioritize high-end sensors, high-torque-density servo motors, high-precision heavy-load joint modules, high-performance servo drives and high-reliability reducers. These components are presented as basic building blocks for intelligent manufacturing systems.
The initiative signals a policy emphasis on strengthening the industrial base and reducing bottlenecks in core parts and technologies. By connecting technology research with component development, the plan aims to support the upgrade of intelligent manufacturing in Shanghai.
The document frames basic components as critical to the performance and reliability of intelligent manufacturing equipment, linking component advances with broader efforts to upgrade advanced manufacturing capacity in Shanghai.
