ChiNext Index Rises 3.4% as AI Hardware and Robotics Stocks Surge
A-share markets in China opened higher on October 28 and maintained their upward momentum throughout the day. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.91% to 3,681.47 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index climbed 2.02% to 11,473.18 points.
The growth-focused ChiNext Index outperformed, surging 3.40% to 2,634.76 points, and the STAR 50 Index gained 2.45% to 1,282.93 points. The strong performance was largely attributed to active trading in AI hardware and robotics-related stocks, which attracted significant investor interest.
Total turnover across the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing exchanges reached approximately 1.64 trillion yuan, an increase of about 170 billion yuan from the previous trading day. The heightened trading volume indicates growing market confidence and liquidity, with technology sectors leading the rally. Analysts noted that the positive sentiment surrounding AI and robotics innovation continues to drive capital flows into these areas.
