West Lake Robotics Completes A1 Funding to Advance Embodied AI Model WR1
West Lake Robotics has completed its A1 funding round, following its A round in August. The round attracted investors including Haiyuan Capital, Cuiwei Fund, Ginkgo Valley Capital, West Lake Science and Technology Innovation Investment, and Zhongshan Venture Capital. The company did not disclose the exact amount of the funding.
The funds from the A round series will be directed toward three core areas: first, tackling the full-body motion and manipulation integrated general embodied foundation model WR1; second, advancing the commercialization of embodied intelligence across multiple scenarios. The third direction was not specified in the announcement.
The company previously received exclusive Pre-A++ investment from a Henan state-owned fund. Embodied AI, which integrates perception, decision-making, and action in physical robots, is considered a key frontier in robotics. West Lake Robotics is a Chinese startup specializing in embodied intelligence, focusing on developing general-purpose embodied AI models that enable robots to operate in diverse environments. The company aims to accelerate the deployment of its technology in various industries, solidifying its position in this rapidly evolving sector. This funding reflects continued investor interest in embodied AI despite broader market uncertainties.
