Teradyne Robotics partners with Sereact to scale physical AI in retail and logistics

Teradyne Robotics, which owns Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots, has partnered with Sereact to accelerate industrial AI in retail, logistics and manufacturing. The companies said Sereact’s Cortex physical AI platform runs Universal Robots arms to automate unstructured tasks such as returns handling and piece picking.

The partners have already shipped hundreds of UR robots in dual-arm systems to live customer sites across Europe. They said the combination is intended to give retailers and logistics providers a proven way to deploy physical AI in real operations.

Jacob Pascual Pape, chief commercial officer of Teradyne Robotics, said physical AI only matters when it performs in real-world operations, and Universal Robots has always been at home there. He said the company’s robots are built for the AI era: open, connected and proven through more than 100,000 industrial deployments, which is why Sereact chose the platform.

Pape added that when combined with Cortex, the joint solution handles mixed goods, unknown items and varied packaging. He said the technology has moved well beyond demo or pilot stage and is now deployed at real customer sites, and the partners will scale AI-powered solutions across applications, industries and markets.

To meet growing demand and bring the joint solution to North America, Sereact opened a U.S. headquarters in Charlestown, Mass., this summer. The company develops physical AI software that lets robots grasp, identify and handle objects they have never seen before. The companies announced the partnership at NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026.

Teradyne Robotics and Sereact said the joint offering can support piece picking and sortation, order induction, machine tending, bin consolidation, kitting, packing and goods handling. They described these as critical logistics and manufacturing use cases.
