RoboSense to Sell Embodied Robot Business to Related Party for RMB 59.88M
RoboSense (02498.HK) announced in a Sept. 10 evening filing that its indirectly wholly owned subsidiary, Shenzhen RoboSense, intends to sell the embodied robot complete-machine business and related assets to Shenzhen Xiyuan Robotics Co., Ltd.
The total cash consideration is RMB 59.878 million. Xiyuan Robotics is 35% controlled by Dr. Qiu Chunxin, RoboSense’s executive director, board chairman, and chief scientist, making the transaction a related-party divestiture.
The sale removes the robot complete-machine unit from the listed company’s scope. With profitability pressure in embodied AI hardware, RoboSense may be narrowing its focus to core businesses while addressing governance and valuation questions tied to the related-party deal.
The filing did not disclose further financial details or a completion timetable. The divestiture also highlights the challenges of commercializing embodied robot systems, which require heavy R&D spending and face uncertain near-term returns.
The buyer is a Shenzhen-based robotics company. The move may signal a sharper focus on core sensing and automotive markets.
