Exclusive: 18 Deals, 1B Orders: Decoding July's Humanoid Robot Funding Map
Exclusive data shows that in July 2026, there were 54 funding events in robotics, with 18 in humanoid robots and embodied AI, accounting for 38.3%, surpassing core components (13) and medical robots (6). This sector remains the most concentrated for capital.
However, funding flows reveal that projects relying solely on the "humanoid" concept can no longer attract investment. Capital is shifting to three directions: embodied intelligence brains, robots with clear application scenarios, and core components.
Part 1: Brain Direction - Angel rounds are reaching hundreds of millions. The biggest change in July: early-stage projects received large funding. Over half of the 18 deals were early-stage, with record amounts.
Examples: Guangxiang Tech (Beijing) received hundreds of millions in angel round for industrial embodied AI; Moqi Intelligent (Guangdong) got hundreds of millions with Alibaba, Tencent, BlueRun, and Junlian participating; Rimao Robotics (Beijing) secured hundreds of millions in seed for physical world foundation models; Yuanhao Power (Beijing) got hundreds of millions for 4D world models. This shows investors now value generalizable physical world models over hardware specs. Internet giants are investing at angel stage, treating "embodied brains" as important as LLMs. Meanwhile, Yimu Tech and Xingdong Era each raised 1 billion in later rounds, both labeled "world models" and "embodied intelligence."
Part 2: Robot makers must have clear use cases. In July, funded robot companies were all tied to specific scenarios. Xingdong Era raised 1 billion in Series B led by Chengtong Fund, with state capital, for industrial applications, partnering with SF Express for sorting at multiple logistics hubs. Lexiang Tech got 500 million Pre-A for consumer/entertainment; Future Not Far Robotics raised 1 billion for home service robots; Yuequan Bionic got hundreds of millions for multiple sectors. Investors are now state and industrial capital, not pure financial VCs, due to a June 2026 policy requiring 10,000 robots deployed by year-end. They ask: Can it work in factories? Homes? Are there orders?
Supply chain companies are also thriving. Several raised funds: Xynova (500M series A+), Qianjue Robot (100M Series A for tactile sensing), Quanzhibo (tens of millions for joints), Shanhuo (tens of millions for transmission parts), Shiyue (tens of millions for dexterous manipulation). They focus on joint modules, six-axis force sensors, dexterous hands, tactile skins. Data shows core component firms raise more per deal than robot makers. Logic: regardless of which OEM wins, upstream parts are needed, and domestic localization is preferred. This explains why core components became the second hottest track with 13 deals (27.7%).
Geographically, Shanghai (14, 29.2%), Guangdong (13, 27.1%), and Beijing (8, 16.7%) account for over 70% of deals. Beijing hosts model companies like Guangxiang, Rimao, Yuanhao; Guangdong leverages its supply chain for robots and sensors; Shanghai specializes in home service robots and precision parts.
The industry is diverging. Leaders like Xingdong Era and Yimu Tech raised 1 billion each, but many homogeneous startups struggle.
