Dongfeng Motor Unveils Plans, Humanoid Robots to Enter Small-Batch Trial Production by Year-End

At its 10th Science and Technology Innovation Week, Dongfeng Motor released a set of strategic initiatives, including the "Tianjing Zero Carbon" plan, an embodied intelligent vehicle comprehensive protection plan, and the "Tianji Yangfan" plan. The event highlighted the company's push across green energy, smart mobility, and embodied AI.

In embodied intelligence, Dongfeng's humanoid robot and robot dog drew the most attention. The automaker is positioning these platforms as part of broader efforts to integrate robotics into vehicle manufacturing and related operations.

Zhang Zhenlin, Dongfeng Motor's chief engineer of intelligent technology, said the humanoid robot will enter a factory in October. It will initially focus on production and manufacturing tasks such as sorting and quality inspection.

By the end of this year, Dongfeng plans small-batch, limited-station trial production for the humanoid robot. The company aims for the robot's capabilities to match those of a human worker by the end of next year, according to Yicai.
