Cainiao Debuts Upgraded Climbing Robot With 15% Efficiency Gain
Cainiao's self-developed climbing robot system appeared at CeMAT ASIA 2026, the Asian international logistics technology and transport systems exhibition, where the company presented its latest warehouse automation capabilities. The system demonstrated four-way picking and double-deep storage, alongside a new robot scheduling system and a warehouse planning simulation system. CeMAT ASIA is a major trade fair for logistics equipment, and Cainiao used the event to show how its climbing robots can operate in dense storage environments.
According to Cainiao, the new capabilities make the robot's turning smoother and raise operating efficiency by 15%, while storage density increases by 20%. Customers can also generate warehouse simulation planning diagrams on a self-service basis, the company said. The upgrades suggest that climbing robots are moving toward more agile movement and denser storage in modern logistics facilities, where operators are seeking higher throughput without expanding floor space. The exhibition showcase also included the new scheduling and simulation tools that support warehouse planning.
