Westlake Robotics Secures 500M Yuan in Series A Funding
Westlake Robotics, a pioneering embodied intelligence company spun off from Westlake University, has announced the completion of its Series A funding round, raising 500 million yuan (approximately 70 million USD) over a span of six months. The company, which officially began operations in January 2024, is the first technology transfer enterprise from Westlake University in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics.
The new capital will be primarily allocated to the development of a unified large model for full-body humanoid robots, enabling seamless coordination between perception, cognition, and action. Additionally, a significant portion will be invested in attracting and cultivating top-tier talent in embodied intelligence, aiming to establish a leading research and innovation hub in this rapidly evolving domain.
