AGCO to Deploy Agility Digit Humanoid in Kansas Factory Pilot
Agility Robotics is moving closer to a public listing through a SPAC merger, and it recently announced the latest version of its Digit humanoid. The dual milestones come as the company works to scale commercial deployments of its bipedal robots.
Agility has positioned Digit as a physical AI system built for human-centric environments. The company says the robot is designed to take on repetitive, strenuous or hazardous tasks while working alongside people in factories and warehouses.
AGCO and Agility Robotics have signed a commercial agreement to deploy Agility’s Digit humanoid in AGCO’s manufacturing facility. The U.S. pilot is expected to begin in 2027.
The project will support AGCO’s efforts to create more flexible, intelligent factories. It will start at AGCO’s production site in Hesston, Kan., and is part of a broader push to add automation in complex manufacturing workflows.
Thomas Enghof, director of manufacturing technology at AGCO, said the strategic relationship views humanoid robotics and AI as essential “teammates” in building flexible, intelligent factories. He said the technologies unlock automation in complex, human-centric workflows and augment human capabilities by absorbing repetitive, strenuous or hazardous tasks.
Enghof said pairing human ingenuity with robust robotic engineering and strict safety governance creates resilient manufacturing systems. Those systems, he said, empower the workforce and deliver measurable business value.
