Valve Surgery Robot Moves Toward Integrated Agent to Bridge Planning and Intraoperative Gaps
Zhcheng Medical Technology and Suzhou Peixin Technology have formed a partnership centered on Zhcheng's valve surgery robot as the core platform. The collaboration aims to integrate Peixin's preoperative planning, imaging intelligence, and disease-specific data management capabilities into the robotic system.
The partners see a persistent clinical problem: preoperative plans for valve procedures often do not match intraoperative reality. By combining advanced imaging and patient-specific data, they intend to make the robot more adaptive during surgery.
Both sides argue that a next-generation surgical robot should be understood as an integrated intelligent agent, not merely a mechanical device that executes motions. Such an agent would fuse perception, planning, operational strategy, and physical execution into one complete system, rather than treating them as separate modules.
Critically, it would also use feedback to adjust its behavior in real time. The collaboration reflects a broader shift in surgical robotics toward embodied AI, where data, imaging, and robotic motion are coordinated to reduce the gap between what is planned before surgery and what actually happens in the operating room.
