Shanghai Composite Closes Up 0.39% as Robot Concept Stocks Rally Broadly
The Shanghai Composite Index opened lower but reversed course to close up 0.39%, while the Shenzhen Component added 0.13%. The benchmark spent the morning under pressure before buying in financial and technology shares lifted it into positive territory. The ChiNext Index recovered from its intraday lows but still ended down 0.94%, leaving the main boards mixed.
Robot-concept stocks were the standout, with more than ten names hitting their daily limit, including Ningbo Dongli, Zhejiang Rongtai and Kesen Technology. Unitree Technology jumped more than 16%, drawing attention to robotics and embodied-AI-related companies.
Large banks extended their rally, with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Construction Bank both reaching record highs. The defense sector remained active, as Ocean King, Ganhua Science and Industry and Changchun Yidong each posted a second straight limit-up.
Decliners outnumbered advancers, with more than 3,100 stocks falling across the Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing exchanges. Agricultural shares weakened broadly, and Jinjian Cereals Industry touched the daily limit-down.
The real estate sector also softened, with Rongfeng Holding closing limit-down. Turnover across the three markets totaled nearly 1.45 trillion yuan, indicating active trading despite the negative breadth.
The session reflected continued rotation into robotics and large-cap financials, while agriculture and property lagged. The low-open, high-close pattern in the Shanghai benchmark suggested dip-buying interest, though gains were not broad-based.
