Westlake University Professor's Robot Startup Raises 500M RMB in Four Rounds within Six Months
Westlake Robotics (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., a startup founded by a professor from Westlake University, has announced the completion of its Series A financing round, raising over 100 million RMB. The round was led by Haiyuan Fund, according to a disclosure on August 13th.
This recent injection brings the company's total funding to an impressive 500 million RMB across four rounds in just six months, reflecting strong investor confidence in the burgeoning field of embodied artificial intelligence.
The proceeds from this Series A round will be strategically allocated to advance the development of a unified large model for the entire humanoid robot body. Key initiatives include iterating on their proprietary general-purpose 'brain', refining their 'GAE external avatar' system, and bolstering the recruitment of top-tier talent in embodied AI.
By focusing on these core technologies, Westlake Robotics aims to accelerate the deployment of humanoid robots capable of more natural and adaptive interactions with the real world.
