Zhiyuan Robotics Backs Chip Company With Over RMB 2.5B Raised This Year
Zhiyuan Robotics has invested in a chip company that has raised more than RMB 2.5 billion this year, Leaderobot reported. The move places the embodied-AI developer closer to the semiconductor and computing supply chain, where custom chips and stable capacity are becoming critical for scaling robots. The report did not disclose the size of the stake or the chip company’s name. The investment reflects a broader trend: robotics companies are moving upstream to secure compute and shorten hardware iteration cycles. As embodied AI models grow more demanding, access to optimized chips could influence cost, performance and deployment speed. Zhiyuan’s backing may also give the chip company added credibility as it competes for customers and capital in a crowded market. For Zhiyuan, the deal is a strategic bet on hardware-software co-design rather than a pure financial investment.
