D-Robotics Raises $400M Series C, Total Funding Tops $770 Million
On September 17, D-Robotics, a provider of general-purpose software and hardware foundations for robots, announced the completion of a $400 million Series C round. The round was led by global investment firm Mirae Asset, with strategic participation from internet giant Meituan, government investment platforms including Hefei Guotou, Nanshan Zhanxintou and Jingquan Capital, and institutional investors such as Cathay Capital, Huamei International Investment Group, GF Xinde and Beyond Moore.
Existing shareholders continued to increase their positions, among them Hillhouse Venture Capital, Five Source Capital, Linear Capital, Huangpu River Capital, Temasek's Vertex Growth, Prosperity7, Hexuan Capital, Yunfeng Capital and Meituan Dragon Ball.
It marks the company's third round this year. D-Robotics closed a $120 million Series B1 in March and a $150 million Series B2 in early April, bringing its Series B total to $270 million. Combined with a $100 million Series A in May 2025, publicly disclosed funding now exceeds $770 million, a record for China's robotics infrastructure sector.
According to the company, the new capital will strengthen the full-compute-range product lineup of its Sunrise chips and build a full-chain software platform spanning data collection, model training, simulation validation and inference deployment, serving development needs from mature product categories to general-purpose humanoids.
The company also disclosed operating data: revenue in the first half of 2026 grew several-fold year on year, cumulative shipments of the Sunrise chip series passed 8 million units, and its embodied intelligence business has entered volume-level shipments.
The Sunrise S600 is the key engine behind that growth. Released in November 2025, the chip combines single-chip full-stack compute with an end-to-cloud development toolchain and within half a year has been adopted by more than 20 leading customers, including TARS Robotics, Qianxun Intelligence, Xbot, UBTech, PaXini Tech, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and Humanoid Robot (Shanghai).
D-Robotics says its customer coverage in embodied intelligence now exceeds 50%. S600 partnerships span humanoid robots, industrial wheeled platforms, 3C flexible operations, embodied foundation models and all-modal perception, with most projects already at the volume shipment stage.
Founded in January 2024, D-Robotics was spun off from the robotics division of autonomous driving chip giant Horizon Robotics. Its legal representative is Horizon founder Yu Kai, while CEO Wang Cong previously led Horizon's AIoT and robotics business for years.
Unlike most companies focused on building robot bodies, D-Robotics set a "no body" strategy from the very start. Wang has said the company does "everything except the body itself."
Positioned as a general-purpose software and hardware foundation provider, its core business centers on Sunrise intelligent computing chips and RDK robot developer kits, covering humanoid robots, quadruped robot dogs, companion and service robots, logistics AMRs, robot vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers. The industry likens the role to a "shovel seller" in the embodied intelligence race — not mining for gold itself, but supplying tools to everyone who does.
Behind the continued capital injections, the ecosystem barrier D-Robotics is building is seen as its core value. Its global developer base has exceeded 100,000 across more than 20 countries and regions, while its Gravity innovation acceleration program has served over 500 small and mid-sized teams and helped more than 200 bring products to market.
