China Issues Joint Opinion to Propel Future Industries Including Quantum, Biomanufacturing, and 6G
The Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council have issued a joint opinion on developing new quality productive forces, outlining a forward-looking layout for future industries.
The opinion calls for exploring diverse technological routes, typical application scenarios, viable business models, and market regulation rules. It specifically aims to promote the development of future industries such as quantum technology, biomanufacturing, hydrogen and nuclear fusion energy, brain-computer interfaces, embodied intelligence, and sixth-generation mobile communications. The goal is to accelerate the formation of a relatively complete industrial ecosystem.
To support these efforts, the document establishes mechanisms for investment growth and risk sharing in future industries. It urges full use of existing fiscal policies to support their development and encourages social capital to continuously increase investment. The risk-sharing mechanism aims to attract private investment by mitigating uncertainties inherent in early-stage technologies, underscoring Beijing's commitment to fostering innovation-driven growth.
New quality productive forces refer to advanced productivity driven by technological innovation and industrial upgrading. This initiative is part of China's broader strategy to achieve high-quality development and enhance its global competitiveness. (Source: Xinhua)
