Aptiv Unveils Embodied AI Compute Platform at CIIE as Mass Production Nears
At the 9th China International Import Expo, which opened in early November, automotive supplier Aptiv displayed an embodied AI compute platform and indicated that the product is close to mass production. The company, a long-established giant in automotive supply chains, is now preparing “brains” for humanoid robots. While detailed specifications were not disclosed, the exhibit signals that automotive-grade compute, functional safety and manufacturing capabilities are being adapted to embodied intelligence. The platform is aimed at humanoid robots and other embodied systems that require high compute density and power efficiency. Aptiv’s move reflects a broader trend: conventional auto suppliers are extending into robotics, where reliable sensing, real-time decision-making and scalable production are critical. If the platform reaches volume output, it could give robot makers a mature hardware option and intensify competition in the emerging embodied AI compute market.
