BrainStone and Zhidongli Debut Heavy-Duty Industrial Humanoid Robot at 2026 CIIF
The 26th China International Industry Fair (CIIF) Robotics Exhibition opened on October 12, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai and runs through October 16.
During the fair, BrainStone and its hardware partner Zhidongli unveiled the EBK-HR D1 series, a wheeled dual-arm humanoid robot designed for heavy industrial applications. The debut showcased the partners' ongoing collaboration around heavy-duty industrial needs.
As a core specialized exhibition, the robotics show occupies Halls 7.1H and 8.1H with a display area of 65,000 square meters, making it one of the world's largest and most influential full-industry-chain robotics events.
Centered on the theme of embodied intelligence, the exhibition showcases cutting-edge technologies, innovative products, and industry application solutions. It aims to promote the integration of embodied AI with the robotics industry and facilitate technical exchange and cooperation along the supply chain.
The EBK-HR D1, jointly developed by BrainStone and Zhidongli, targets high-value, high-demand industrial tasks such as box depalletizing and palletizing, box handling and loading/unloading, and mixed-material sorting.
These tasks involve heavy, repetitive labor and require embodied intelligent robots to combine high payload capacity, operational flexibility, and task adaptability.
The EBK-HR D1 made its debut at the 2026 CIIF Robotics Exhibition. It leverages BrainStone's expertise in brain-inspired embodied technology, industrial scenario understanding, and product definition, along with Zhidongli's experience in robot body design, manufacturing, and industrialization. The two companies jointly developed a software-hardware integrated solution for heavy industrial needs.
For the robot's 'brain', BrainStone independently developed Cog-WM 1.0, a brain-inspired cognitive world model that draws on human cognitive mechanisms. It integrates perception encoding with goal regulation, spatiotemporal memory, and latent-space multi-level prediction into a unified architecture. This enables the robot to use historical information and predict environmental changes for navigation and manipulation.
Cog-WM 1.0 has been validated on wheeled humanoids, quadrupeds, and other configurations, demonstrating key capabilities such as mapless autonomous navigation and path planning, spatiotemporal memory retrieval, spatial relation Q&A and object finding, and long-horizon manipulation in changing environments. It provides core brain-level technical support for the EBK-HR D1's industrial deployment.
The EBK-HR D1 features a wheeled dual-arm design, stands 1.85 meters tall, and has 23 degrees of freedom (excluding end effectors).
Each arm has a span of about 1 meter, with a rated payload of 15 kg and a peak payload of 25 kg.
The robot is equipped with a four-wheel, four-steering chassis that supports lateral movement and in-place turning, a rated speed of 1.5 m/s, a lifting stroke of 1 meter, and approximately 6 hours of battery life. It supports manual charging and hot-swappable quick-release battery replacement.
Zhidongli, BrainStone's ODM partner, offers complete robot ODM delivery capabilities, with core strengths in 'self-developed foundation + agile customization'. First, based on self-developed core modules (integrated joints, drives, and sensors), it can rapidly customize and iterate complete robots. Customers can flexibly derive different forms and specifications from the same module platform, significantly shortening the cycle from requirement confirmation to prototype validation and reducing development costs and mass-production risks.
Second, its self-developed cerebellum motion controller provides microsecond-level real-time control, ensuring motion precision and stability under high-dynamic, high-load conditions. This offers underlying technical support for complex operations.
Leveraging its modular architecture and real-time motion control, Zhidongli can efficiently respond to differentiated ODM needs from industry customers, achieving agile delivery from concept to mass production.
Building on this collaboration, BrainStone and Zhidongli will cooperate to implement more scenarios in the future, providing diversified integrated software-hardware product solutions for commercial and industrial markets.
