Aishida Deploys 100 Humanoid Robots as Store Guides, Sales Rise 39%
According to East Money's robot concept coverage, Aishida deployed 100 Aibao humanoid robots across 100 stores nationwide, assigning them to real retail environments as shopping guides.
Each robot worked 10 hours per day, and the entire trial was live-streamed. After three days, the company reported a 39% average sales increase across the 100 stores. The robots interacted with customers, provided product information, and guided purchases.
Humanoid robots appearing at exhibitions or stage performances is no longer rare. The harder test is entering operating stores, where high foot traffic and strong random disturbances challenge real-world reliability. Aishida's trial therefore moves beyond demonstration toward commercial deployment.
While the trial was short, the sales lift and continuous operation offer early evidence that humanoid robots can handle retail tasks. The case highlights a shift from showcase to frontline service, with implications for labor, customer experience, and the maturity of embodied AI. Whether the results can hold over longer periods and larger fleets remains to be seen.
