Embodied Intelligence Robot Application Technician Named New Occupation
On September 9, 2026, China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security officially released its eighth batch of new occupations, which includes the role of 'Embodied Intelligence Robot Application Technician'. This occupation does not involve writing algorithms or manufacturing robot bodies, but instead plays a crucial connecting role in bringing robots into factories and households. These technicians collect real-world scenario data, debug software and hardware, and train robots to adapt to environmental changes.
Alongside this new role, 23 new job types were also introduced, and JD.com has committed to transforming the skills of 700,000 blue-collar workers. These policy signals collectively indicate that as robots begin to take on jobs, the human role has not disappeared but is being redefined.
