Robot Store Manager Works Overtime During National Day, Shanghai Store Sees 25-Fold Transaction Growth

As night falls, Baoshan Binjiang Avenue in Shanghai is bustling with crowds. The drone fireworks show at Wusongkou Aerial Theater is about to begin, and residents and tourists have set up cameras to watch "Mecha Nezha" light up the sky.

Not far away, a small robot shop of about 10 square meters is brightly lit. The robot "Xiaomai" moves back and forth to fetch goods, while several young people gather at the window to scan QR codes. There are no staff members or cashiers on duty; Xiaomai handles orders and grabs products on its own.

During the National Day holiday, this robot store manager worked overtime and delivered impressive results. According to data cited by East Money, a Shanghai store saw its transaction volume rise 25-fold, showing the appeal of robot-run shops amid holiday foot traffic. The model combines robotics with cultural tourism consumption, offering a new sample for unmanned retail.
