Suzhou Industrial Park's Trade Tops 1 Trillion Yuan, AI Hardware Doubles
According to Suzhou Industrial Park Customs, the park's foreign trade hit 1.02 trillion yuan in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 126.8%. This milestone already surpasses the park's total trade volume for the entire previous year. Exports rose 120.9% to 508.59 billion yuan, while imports climbed 133% to 510.72 billion yuan.
The remarkable growth was driven largely by high-tech products, including smart robots and AI hardware. Trade in high-tech goods surged 189.9% to 727.41 billion yuan. Specifically, imports and exports of memory chips and optical modules, essential for AI computing, exceeded 620 billion yuan, more than doubling from the same period last year. These products are integral to AI servers and data centers. Additionally, pharmaceutical trade expanded by 161.1% to 21.23 billion yuan.
Such rapid expansion underscores the park's strategic role in China's technology and manufacturing sectors. The booming demand for AI-related products reflects both global technological trends and the park's robust industrial ecosystem. The park's success also highlights China's broader push towards high-quality development and technological self-sufficiency. With these results, Suzhou Industrial Park is well on track to set new records for the year, reinforcing its position as a leading hub for innovation and trade. This growth is expected to bolster the regional economy and attract further investment in high-tech industries.
