Robots Storm Canton Fair: Six-Month Iteration, On-Site Orders
The 140th Canton Fair is underway in Guangzhou. The 70-year-old “China’s No. 1 Exhibition” has once again drawn global attention, with a wave of new technologies and products—especially robots and artificial intelligence—demonstrating how China’s foreign trade is moving toward innovation, sustainability, and intelligence.
The service robot zone offers the clearest example. Shu Xuqiong, deputy general manager of Guangdong Paibao Robotics Co., said buyers at the previous two sessions kept asking what the exhibited robots were for, while this year they are more focused on practical applications, deployment value, and commercial returns.
As robot products iterate roughly every six months, technology updates and scenario adaptation are accelerating. Some exhibits won orders on the spot, signaling that overseas buyers’ interest in service robots is shifting from curiosity to procurement.
The robot fever at the Canton Fair also reflects changes in China’s trade structure: higher-value, smarter products are becoming new export highlights and opening cooperation windows for global buyers seeking advanced solutions. Organizers and exhibitors see the fair as a key platform for connecting with international markets.
