PsiBot Raises $100M+ for Embodied AI and Dexterous Manipulation
PsiBot, a Chinese startup specializing in embodied AI and dexterous manipulation, has announced the completion of a funding round exceeding US$100 million. The investment round attracted a diverse group of industrial and financial backers, including Ningbo Tuopu Group, a fund backed by Chery Holdings, Lens Technology, 37 Interactive Entertainment, Wuhu Investment Holding Group, and Fosun Fortune Capital. Existing shareholder Zhuhai Technology Industry Group also increased its stake.
The new capital will be allocated to several key areas. First, PsiBot plans to advance its research on embodied world models, which are AI systems that can predict the outcomes of actions in physical environments. Second, the company will expand its collection of human operation data, essential for training robots to perform complex tasks. Third, the funds will support the deployment of its technology in logistics and advanced manufacturing settings, where dexterous manipulation is critical.
PsiBot is developing a dual-system architecture that combines its Psi-R2 operation-policy model with the Psi-W0 action-conditioned world model. The Psi-R2 model focuses on generating precise control policies for robotic manipulation, while the Psi-W0 model predicts the consequences of actions, enabling more intelligent and adaptive behavior. This integrated approach aims to bridge the gap between perception and action, allowing robots to handle unstructured environments with greater dexterity.
The company's focus on dexterous manipulation is particularly relevant in industries such as electronics assembly, warehouse parcel handling, and precision manufacturing.
