Unitree Technology Soars 460% on STAR Market Debut, Brokerages Reap Billions
Unitree Technology, a prominent player in the humanoid robot sector, made a sensational debut on the STAR Market on August 19. The company's shares closed at 845 yuan each, representing a 460.34% surge from the IPO price, and lifting its market capitalization above 340 billion yuan. The strong performance underscores the market's enthusiasm for robotics innovation.
The listing proved highly rewarding for early backers. Over a dozen brokerages that had previously invested in the company through private equity placements are expected to enjoy combined floating profits exceeding 3 billion yuan, with CITIC Securities among the major winners. These gains reflect the success of strategic investments made in the company's growth phase.
In the offline subscription for the IPO, 23 brokerages participated with their proprietary accounts, and their first-day floating profits could surpass 1 million yuan. However, five brokerages were disqualified because their bid prices fell outside the acceptable range, thus missing the initial surge. The event highlights both the potential gains and the competitive nature of IPO participation in China's tech-driven market.
