Unitree Marks 10th Anniversary as Wang Xingxing Urges Belief in AI
On October 22, the Hangzhou International Expo Center was busy with visitors and an unusually large number of robots as the 2026 Unitree World Physical AI Conference opened. The event featured machines ranging from quadruped robots to humanoid robots, creating a showcase with a notably high density of robotic systems.
The conference coincided with Unitree Technology’s 10th anniversary. On stage, founder Wang Xingxing devoted much of his talk to artificial intelligence rather than hardware alone. He urged the audience to believe in AI, presenting that confidence as central to the next phase of robotics and physical intelligence.
Wang also reflected on his own position, saying he felt he had not believed in AI strongly enough. The comment gave the anniversary event a forward-looking tone: Unitree used the milestone not only to review a decade of robot development but also to emphasize AI as the force likely to shape the company’s next chapter and the broader embodied AI field. For Unitree, the message was clear: progress in physical AI depends as much on advances in artificial intelligence as on mechanical design.
