CATL announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ningbo Wending, has signed a partnership agreement with Xiamen Puquan and Xiamen Ruiting to invest in the Xiamen Shidai Yiyuan Venture Capital Fund Partnership.
Ningbo Wending will subscribe 1.12 billion yuan, representing a 19.4175% stake in the fund. The fund's total subscribed capital is 5.768 billion yuan.

This aligns with the growing convergence of energy and AI technologies. The fund will target early and growth-stage projects in these fields.
The transaction is classified as a related-party co-investment, but it does not require approval from CATL's board of directors or shareholders.
The move underscores CATL's efforts to diversify beyond battery manufacturing into emerging technologies, potentially leveraging its energy storage expertise to support AI and robotics development. It also reflects major industrial players' growing interest in embodied AI, which integrates robotics with artificial intelligence. CATL's participation signals confidence in the sector's long-term potential. The investment could accelerate commercialization of AI-driven applications in energy and manufacturing.
