Zhiyuan Introduces 'Worken' KPI to Measure Robot Value Creation
It remains unknown how far into the future the founders of Zhiyuan, a Shanghai-based robotics company, were looking when they established the firm three years ago.
Yesterday, Zhiyuan hosted its annual Innovation Day under the theme 'Leap.' The company asserted that the embodied AI industry has entered its 'next stage.' Co-founder Peng Zhihui introduced 'Worken,' a new metric inspired by the Token concept, to quantify the value a robot creates.
The proposal aims to establish a standardized KPI for robots, moving beyond technical specifications to measure actual economic contribution. By providing a unified evaluation framework, Worken could accelerate the commercialization of embodied AI and help compare different robotic systems. The initiative reflects the growing maturity of the embodied AI sector, where performance metrics are becoming essential for investment and adoption. This aligns with Zhiyuan's vision of advancing the industry toward measurable, value-driven outcomes. Zhiyuan, founded in 2023, has quickly become a notable player in China's robotics landscape.
