Xinjiang's First Robot 9S Center Opens, Humanoid Dances Xinjiang Style
Xinjiang's first robot 9S center has begun operation in Urumqi, putting embodied AI robots on display across entertainment and public-service scenarios. Visitors can watch humanoid robots dance to music in a Xinjiang style, while intelligent guide robots are designed to explain Silk Road history in museums and assist visitors in government service halls. The facility combines exhibition and hands-on experience for the public.
On the 19th, resident Guo Haoxuan brought his child to the center and stood in front of the humanoid robot performance area, using his phone to record a robot dancing to music. He said he had not expected to experience such technology close to home and that his child was also very interested in the robots.
The center presents how embodied intelligent robots are entering daily production and life in Xinjiang. Through performances and interactive displays, it gives the public a closer look at applications expected to become more common in museums, government services and other public settings. The opening also signals growing local access to robotics experiences for families and residents, reflecting broader efforts to bring embodied AI from laboratories into everyday public environments.
