Chinese Robots Draw Overseas Buyers at Canton Fair, Prompting On-Site Orders
China News Service reported on Oct 18 that the 140th Canton Fair in Guangzhou has become a showcase for Chinese robotics. At Lingdu Intelligent's booth, a high-rise facade-cleaning robot simulated an obstacle-crossing operation, demonstrating how machines can handle dangerous exterior maintenance. Other exhibits addressed lawn care, logistics and mobility assistance, drawing buyers who filmed demonstrations on their phones.
Beyond displays, the fair generated commercial traction. Some overseas buyers placed orders during the event, while others arranged visits to Chinese factories to inspect production lines and test reliability. The varied use cases—from cleaning glass curtain walls to moving goods and supporting walking—highlight how Chinese robot makers are tailoring products to real-world tasks.
For exporters, the interest underscores a shift from domestic competition to global market expansion. By combining practical applications with cost-effective hardware, Chinese robotics firms are using trade fairs to build overseas channels and move from showcasing prototypes to securing deployment deals.
