Hong Kong Unveils First Embodied AI International Application Training Ground
The Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre (FLAIR), under the Hong Kong Productivity Council, has officially unveiled Hong Kong's first Embodied Intelligence International Application Training Ground. The new facility is intended to accelerate the development and real-world deployment of embodied AI technologies.
Seven companies were named as the training ground's first batch of technology partners. They include Zhipingfang, Unitree Robotics, and Zhiyuan Innovation, along with other industry representatives. These partners will provide robotic platforms and technical expertise for testing and validation.
Zhipingfang's general-purpose intelligent robot, AlphaBot 2 (also known as Aibao), has already entered the training ground. It will take part in training, validation, and optimization of embodied AI applications in real scenarios.
The training ground aims to bridge the gap between AI research and commercial deployment by offering realistic environments for robot learning and evaluation. It also seeks to reinforce Hong Kong's position as an international innovation hub for robotics and AI, according to Securities Times.
The initiative underscores growing momentum in embodied intelligence, where robots are trained to perceive, reason, and act in physical environments.
