STAR 200 ETF Soars 4.2% as Tech Rally Expands to Semiconductors, CPO, Robots
Semiconductor and CPO sectors led the rally on the STAR Market, boosting the STAR 200 ETF (588240) by over 4.2%. SK Hynix announced a $38.4 billion investment to build a wafer fab in South Korea, with its chairman warning of the most severe 'memory shortage' next year. The company will also restart its Dalian NAND plant, expanding capacity by about 50%.
In the second quarter, contract prices for mainstream DRAM and NAND Flash surged over 50% quarter-on-quarter. CPO (co-packaged optics) also showed strength, contributing to the broadening tech rally.
