ENGINEAI Cuts Humanoid Robot Cost to Under 100,000 RMB

ENGINEAI, a Shenzhen-based humanoid robot maker, has announced that the cost of a general-purpose humanoid robot capable of performing practical tasks has dropped below RMB 100,000 per unit. This marks a major milestone in the robotics industry, as the same category of robots cost over RMB 1 million just three years ago.

CEO Zhao Tongyang said in a statement, which was covered by IT Home and published on the company's website, that this price point specifically targets robots intended for factory, household and other real-world applications, not low-cost toys. He highlighted the significant cost reduction, which he attributed to advancements in manufacturing and technology. The decline is expected to lower entry barriers for adopting humanoid robots across various sectors, including manufacturing, logistics and healthcare, potentially expanding the market.
