JD Logistics to Procure 3 Million Robots in Five-Year Automation Push
At the JD Global Technology Exploration Conference on September 9, JD Logistics unveiled an ambitious five-year plan to deploy 3 million robots, 1 million autonomous delivery vehicles, and 100,000 drones. The initiative aims to drive full-process unmanned logistics across its operations, from warehousing to last-mile delivery.
Beyond the fleet expansion, the company will build what it calls the world's largest robot maintenance service network. Over the next five years, this after-sales support system is expected to cover more than 100 countries, creating over 100,000 jobs for robot maintenance engineers.
The announcement underscores JD Logistics' commitment to automation as a core logistics strategy, reflecting broader industry trends toward reducing human intervention in supply chains.
