UBTECH U1 Humanoid Robot Begins Small-Batch Delivery, Q4 Youth Edition Planned
On October 13, Southern Finance reporters visited UBTECH's Shenzhen headquarters showroom to assess the U1 full-size, ultra-bionic humanoid robot more than 100 days after its launch. The visit focused on delivery progress, production capacity, and the company's product roadmap, providing an update on its humanoid robot commercialization efforts.
Jiao Jichao, UBTECH vice president and dean of the Embodied Intelligence and Humanoid Robot Research Institute, said U1 entered small-batch delivery in September. The first end customers have received units and provided feedback, while factory capacity is gradually ramping up. UBTECH expects deliveries to accelerate in the second half of the year.
In addition, the company plans to launch a U1 'Youth Edition' in the fourth quarter, aiming at broader market demand. The move signals that UBTECH's humanoid robot is moving from demonstration toward early commercial deployment. Details on pricing and specifications were not disclosed. The company says the robots are designed for interactive tasks and service scenarios.
