Wheel-Legged Robot Dog XGO-mini2SW Aims to Be an AI Lab Rat
The quadruped robot space is crowded, and newcomers need something special to stand out. Hong Kong-based Luwu Intelligent Technology Limited (陆吾智能) seems to know this well, as its XGO series has introduced a new model: the XGO-mini2SW.
This robot features a "wheel-legged" hybrid design, combining 12 degrees of freedom in its biomimetic legs with wheels at the toes. This allows it to both climb over obstacles and glide efficiently on flat ground, aiming to cover both capabilities. The company calls it a "jack of all trades" approach.
The new product is currently preparing to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
The "metal dog" is powered by a Raspberry Pi CM5 compute module, offering a flexible and powerful open-source platform for developers. This is not a toy controlled by a remote; it is a serious embodied AI development kit.
Luwu Intelligence emphasizes the robot's role in reinforcement learning and provides a complete open-source Sim-to-Real workflow. Developers can train AI models in simulation and then seamlessly deploy them onto the physical hardware, which is often the most challenging aspect of modern robotics research.
