XPeng Robot Unit Raises $900M+ in Record First Round
On August 24, XPeng Group announced that its humanoid robot business had signed equity financing agreements with multiple investors. This round, the first for the robot business, raised over $900 million and valued it at over $6.3 billion, setting a new record for single-round private equity financing in China's embodied AI industry.
The round was led by IDG Capital with participation from Gaorong Ventures, supported by strategic investors Tencent and Alibaba. XPeng Group will continue to hold a controlling stake in the robot business.
