China's Domestic Surgical Robot Exports Surge 272.9% in First Eight Months
China's robotics industry has expanded rapidly in recent years, with the surgical robot niche gradually breaking foreign brands' dominance and entering a high-growth phase. A Wallstreetcn report said exports of domestically produced surgical robots jumped 272.9% year on year in the first eight months of the year. Industry forecasts put China's surgical robot market at 22.45 billion yuan in 2026, rising to 70.85 billion yuan by 2030, a compound annual growth rate of 33.3%. The combination of strong export momentum and a fast-expanding domestic market suggests that Chinese suppliers are gaining ground in high-end medical robotics, where precision, clinical validation and service networks are critical. Surgical robots are among the most demanding medical devices, requiring advanced imaging, dexterous manipulation and rigorous safety standards. The figures point to a sector moving from import substitution toward broader global competition.
