A clear signal emerged at the 2026 World Robot Conference: the embodied intelligence industry is no longer competing to build more universal robots, but to create real value in specific scenarios. From garment sewing to biological experiments, from airport baggage transfer to cultural tourism companionship, a range of robot solutions that aim to be specialized rather than general-purpose are redefining the path to technology deployment. This shift marks a move away from robots that can do everything toward tools that excel at one thing.

In the vertical domain, Aitu Technology showcased its humanoid robot working alongside a template machine. The robot focuses solely on garment sewing, autonomously performing fabric recognition, grasping, positioning, and feeding the sewing machine. This seemingly narrow focus addresses the garment industry's challenges of labor shortages, rising labor costs, and the need for flexible production. Wang Fengmei, Aitu's marketing director, stated that the company's fully self-developed sewing VLA vertical-domain embodied large model can match multi-style, small-batch, and fast-iteration production needs without repeated programming or debugging.

Another example is Yuanluo Technology, which anchors biomedical scenarios. Its Monte02 robot demonstrated cross-task capability migration from nucleic acid extraction preprocessing to cytotoxicity testing. Its core technology is a self-developed OPN physics-native model that integrates visual, force, and tactile multimodal information, enabling the robot to adjust execution strategies in real time based on task goals. Yuanluo has mastered over 50 standardized experimental operations with sub-millimeter precision and can continuously conduct multi-hour long-process experiments.

Yunmu Zhizao offers a different approach to deep specialization. Unlike the first two companies that focus on industrial manufacturing, its fully simulated humanoid robots emphasize systematic character design, including personality, voice, movement, and dialogue. Each intellectual property (IP) has a complete personality. Yunmu's vice president Yang Xiaojun revealed that the company is developing simulated baby robots that can simulate touch, crying, and babbling, extending robots from tool attributes to emotional companionship dimensions.

Beyond vertical scenarios, system architecture determines how these robots operate. For airport baggage transfer, Ruiwei Technology has developed a layered architecture where different robots handle distinct tasks: the Xiaoyi robot handles standard baggage as the primary mover, while a wheeled dual-arm humanoid robot explores flexible operations for irregular baggage, all coordinated under a unified production task. Zhang Donghui, founder of Ruiwei Technology, said they do not focus on whether the robot looks human-like but on whether it can do the job.

A more groundbreaking exploration involves cross-embodiment collaboration. Xingyuanzhi demonstrated, for the first time, heterogeneous multi-robot coordinated rope jumping: two humanoid robots swung the rope while a quadruped robot dog jumped in rhythm. In industrial scenarios, Xingyuanzhi and Zhongli Co-developed the high-altitude operation robot 'Optimus Prime,' equipped with an embodied brain, capable of operations up to 10 meters high. It can load or unload a single vehicle in 90 seconds, and coordinated dual-vehicles in just one minute, achieving efficiency comparable to manual operation.

The Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center addresses system collaboration from a tool-chain perspective, releasing the EvoStack comprehensive toolchain. It aims to open a path from technical validation to industrial deployment through standardized data collection and SDK development. In addition, Minglue Technology released an open-source human-robot collaboration platform called Octo, designed to connect the 'brains' of each intelligent agent into an 'organizational-level collaborative brain.'

The 2026 World Robot Conference conveys a core message: embodied intelligence has transcended the stage of demonstrating technology and entered the deep-water zone of 'scenario-defined technology.' The transition from 'universal machines' to 'specialized tools' is the most solid step toward industrialization.
