Xiaomi Debuts New Humanoid Robot at WRC 2026, Showcases Interactive Capabilities
At the 2026 World Robot Congress held in Beijing on August 19, Xiaomi unveiled its latest humanoid robot to the public for the first time. The robot engaged with attendees by performing actions such as handing out flowers, making heart gestures, and offering a gentlemanly bow, demonstrating its interactive social skills and drawing a crowd of curious spectators.
Xiaomi explained that these on-site interactions were driven by a large model, enabling the robot to autonomously decide and execute its actions. This debut marks the company's first public exhibition appearance, allowing ordinary visitors to directly experience the robot's capabilities and providing valuable feedback for future development.
According to public records, Xiaomi's robotics division had completed the initial body hardware by July this year. The company also revealed a three-step approach to ecosystem collaboration, aiming to integrate its robotics products with its broader smart device ecosystem. This strategic move aligns with Xiaomi's long-term commitment to advancing embodied AI technologies and underscores its ambition in the competitive humanoid robot sector, where major tech firms are vying for leadership.
