Stretch Gen 2 Ships; Cainiao Targets 80% Overseas
The most recordable facts on Nov 3 are institutional and commercial at once: AgiBot received the 2026 World Internet Conference Outstanding Contribution Award in Wuzhen, while Boston Dynamics released Stretch Gen 2, a trailer-unloading robot aimed at the failure modes that kept earlier warehouse machines offline. The pairing matters because state recognition in China and a paid hardware release in the US are moving on separate clocks.
Supply chain data supports the shift from samples to volume. Aohai Technology says humanoid robot power supplies and control boards are already in batch shipment; Tuosida's palletizing workstation integrates industrial arms, AI algorithms, 3D vision and motion planning in paid factory workflows. Those are component and integration signals, not general-purpose intelligence. They indicate that orders exist at the subsystem level before humanoid platforms reach broad autonomy.
Agility discloses that Digit's production work in customer facilities relies on traditional controls plus AI, and that this hybrid stack is the base for Digit 5. That is a rare deployment disclosure. Cainiao showed a self-developed climbing robot at CeMAT Asia with four-way picking and double-deep storage, and says about 80 percent of the business targets overseas warehouse operators. Logistics remains the segment where paid reliability, not demo novelty, sets the bar.
Leaderobot argues that the compute buildout is embodied AI's most overestimated consensus; more chips do not fix bottlenecks in data, body design and real-world deployment. The Agility disclosure is consistent with that view. Sharpa's David Li used a CNN slot to set out four bets on general-purpose robots, while DEEP Robotics and LimX Dynamics placed robots in public safety and guided-tour roles, where setup cost and routine operation matter more than benchmark scores.
Two observation points follow. First, whether Stretch Gen 2 and Cainiao's climbing robot convert into repeat orders in 2027. Second, whether Agility's hybrid stack scales from Digit to Digit 5 without a step change in data collection. The compute narrative will be tested by deployment metrics, not chip counts.
