JD.com Unveils Robot Strategy at WRC 2026 with 10 Billion Yuan Investment

From August 19 to 23, the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC 2026) took place in Beijing, serving as a benchmark global event for the robotics industry. The conference focused on human-robot coexistence and industry-demand integration, bringing together cutting-edge technologies and industrial resources from around the world.

At the conference, JD.com served as the global strategic partner for WRC and unveiled its robot strategy, clarifying its development plans across three dimensions: supply chain, service, and technology. Leveraging its diverse real-world business scenarios and mature deployment capabilities, the company aims to accelerate the commercialization and scenario-based implementation of the robotics industry, supporting high-quality sector growth.

On the supply chain front, JD.com plans to invest 10 billion yuan in the robotics sector by 2028, assisting 100 brands to achieve over 1 billion yuan in independent sales. This investment is intended to drive cost reduction and efficiency gains through an ultra-efficient supply chain, bringing robots into one million end-use scenarios and enabling consumer-grade robots to reach tens of millions of households both domestically and abroad. Currently, JD.com collaborates with more than 200 robot brands and numerous core component manufacturers through direct sourcing, serving personal and household consumers while covering various industry segments such as retail, healthcare, industry, and logistics. In Europe, JD.com's Joybuy platform has established partnerships with over 50 Chinese robot brands, allowing overseas consumers to experience Chinese smart technology.

On the service front, over the next five years, JD.com will build after-sales service capabilities covering more than 100 countries, creating over 100,000 new jobs for robot after-sales service engineers. The company will also establish 80 RoboBase robot bases, creating a full-lifecycle platform that integrates robot display, delivery, maintenance, R&D, pilot assembly, data collection, production, and iterative upgrades, helping to address bulk maintenance pressures for enterprises and after-sales issues for users.

On the technology front, JD.com's JoyInside is accelerating the development of the 'AI Home' smart ecosystem, with plans to connect over 10 million terminal devices, including robots, within this year. JD Cloud aims to collect over 10 million hours of real-world scene data within two years. Leveraging its massive real-world commercial and living scenarios, JD.com is building a proprietary AI foundation model matrix to fill the gap in high-quality training data, lower data acquisition barriers, and accelerate the transition of robots from laboratories to real-world environments, positioning itself as the world's largest physical-world operator.

These strategic initiatives form the core development framework of JD.com's robotics business. Relying on its diverse business formats and industrial resource advantages, JD.com will actively align with national robot industry development directions, conducting comprehensive robotic industry practices and applications to drive quality and efficiency improvements in the sector.
