Xiaomi's 'Tie Da' Humanoid Robot Explores More Factory Roles, Home Use Still Distant
At the 2026 World Robot Conference, Xiaomi unveiled its latest humanoid robot, 'Tie Da'. Standing 1.70 meters tall and weighing 66 kilograms, the bipedal robot features 66 joints across its body. It has already completed several months of 'internship' on the production line at Xiaomi's automobile factory.
In recent interviews with media including 21st Century Business Herald, Xiang Diyun, general manager of Xiaomi's robotics division, and You Yangwei, head of bionic manipulation, discussed the robot's progress. They indicated that Tie Da will expand to additional workstations in the factory, while emphasizing that home use remains challenging to achieve in the short term. The company is focused on refining its capabilities in industrial settings first.
