Dutch Jewelry Warehouse Deploys Chinese Robots for 14,000 Daily Order Lines
My Jewellery, a Dutch fashion jewelry brand, is scaling at 25–30% annualized and sends 30–40 new designs to core markets including Benelux, Germany and France every week. The pressure is not on front-end sales but on the back-end warehouse.
Its nearly 9,000-square-meter distribution center handles a huge number of SKUs, very short update cycles and violent order peaks and troughs. B2B bulk replenishment and B2C piece picking run together. Low racks cover the floor, employees walk tens of thousands of steps a day searching for people and goods, picking efficiency has hit a ceiling, and labor costs keep climbing.
My Jewellery chose Geek+’s RoboShuttle tote-to-person solution, converting the flat warehouse into a high-density smart warehouse and running B2B and B2C fulfillment lines simultaneously.
The solution has two robot types working at once. RS tote robots move flexibly on tracks on 8-meter-high racks, taking totes down from high positions and delivering them to workstations. P40 robots travel along the floor in ultra-narrow aisles, handling tote transfer and connection.
This dual-machine collaboration replaces the previous flat model, in which low shelves covered the floor, with three-dimensional storage, so warehouse space utilization is recalculated. To address fashion’s many SKUs and rapid updates, the system uses intelligent storage location allocation and six-compartment totes for fine-grained management of small jewelry.
When large B2B orders and scattered B2C picking arrive at the same time, RS8 and P40 dock seamlessly. Staff can complete fulfillment at the workstation rather than running around the warehouse looking for goods. My Jewellery Chief Financial Officer Vilmar Bliekendaal says the employee experience is more pleasant, project payback is very fast, and output efficiency far exceeds the past.
