Xiaomi's Humanoid Robot 'Tieda' Debuts at World Robot Conference
During the 2026 World Robot Conference, Xiaomi's new-generation humanoid robot, Tieda, made its first public appearance, immediately becoming the exhibit's focal point. The robot attracted long queues of visitors who were eager to observe and interact with it, reflecting the intense public and industry interest in humanoid robotics.
Tieda stands 1.70 meters tall and weighs 66 kilograms. It is equipped with 66 joints across its body, half of which are dedicated to the hands, enabling a high degree of manual dexterity. The hardware architecture has been comprehensively redesigned, and the robot's physique has been optimized based on the actual anthropometric data of factory workers to ensure it can perform practical tasks in real industrial settings.
Despite the impressive demonstrations, a Xiaomi staff member noted that Tieda is not designed for speed and cannot be compared to performance-focused robots. The goal, they explained, is to achieve reliable and dexterous manipulation in work environments rather than fast or flashy movements. This debut marks a significant milestone in Xiaomi's push toward practical humanoid robots for industrial applications.
