Qiyuan Robot Launches Sub-20,000-Yuan Humanoids in Consumer Market Push
On Sept. 20, Qiyuan Robot, a subsidiary of Shangwei New Materials, officially began selling the Q1 and T1 humanoid robots. The entry price reaches 19,999 yuan, the lowest among products with similar specifications, the company said.
The pricing marks a key step for embodied AI on the consumer side. As core components mature and supply-chain capabilities improve, robot prices continue to fall. Consumer-grade robots are moving from showcases into volume sales, with lower entry barriers for buyers. The launch follows a broader trend of declining costs across the humanoid robot sector.
Shanghai's embodied AI companies are trying to take an early lead by relying on China's complete robotics supply chain. If costs and mass production improve further, humanoid robots could enter homes and commercial settings faster. The sub-20,000-yuan tag may also intensify competition in the consumer segment. The Q1 and T1 are designed for consumer applications, though large-scale adoption will depend on reliability and useful everyday tasks.
