BrainCo Unveils Brain-Controlled Robots and Dexterous Hands at WRC 2026

On August 19, the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC 2026) opened at Beijing North Ren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center. BrainCo unveiled its newly released brain-controlled robot training platform, a dexterous operation data collection matrix, a bionic dexterous hand, and a new-generation intelligent bionic hand. These products highlight the convergence of brain-computer interfaces, artificial intelligence, and embodied intelligence, opening new possibilities for human-robot interaction.

At the event, a visitor wearing an EEG cap sat beside a humanoid robot. Without using a controller or physical gestures, the EEG signals were captured and decoded by algorithms, converting them into control commands that drove the robot to perform corresponding actions. A new interaction pathway—from human intention to machine action—is becoming increasingly clear.

As humanoid robots advance, a crucial question emerges: how can humans interact with them more naturally as robots gain stronger perception and execution capabilities? Keyboards, mice, touchscreens, and voice have shortened the distance between humans and machines. Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) offer a further path by recognizing intentions from neural activity and connecting to external devices.

The BrainCo brain-controlled robot training platform showcased at WRC is an exploration in this direction. The platform collects task-related EEG signals in real time, identifies intention-related patterns through algorithms, and translates them into robot control commands. During this process, the user establishes a direct control link with the robot without relying on physical movements. The platform adopts an integrated design and currently supports third-party devices such as humanoid robots, robotic arms, and quadruped robots. Researchers without a background in the field can unlock brain-controlled robots within ten minutes.

At WRC, the platform was demonstrated for the first time using a humanoid robot as the execution carrier, presenting the entire process from EEG signal acquisition to intention recognition to robotic execution.

The BCI provides an interaction pathway from brain activity to machine action. While robots continuously improve their perception, decision-making, and execution abilities, transmitting human intention to machines becomes a new technical challenge. In the future, the way humans convey intention to machines may become more direct and natural.
