Three Robot Body Makers Release Five Models in Eight Days to Add AI Brains
On Sept. 16, Hongxing Capital Bureau reported that September brought a dense wave of model releases in embodied AI.
On Sept. 8, Songyan Dynamics launched Scalabot, a sub-brand for general embodied intelligence technology, and released HERON-World Model, the first world model under its HERON architecture. A week later, on Sept. 15, the company introduced HERON-CRA, the second model in the same architecture.
According to the headline, three robot body manufacturers released five models in eight days, a rare pace that suggests hardware makers are collectively adding "brains" to their machines. Industry observers say the focus is shifting from hardware competition to model capability, using world models and decision models to improve perception, understanding, and generalization.
The wave indicates embodied AI competition is moving toward software and model layers, with body makers increasingly positioning themselves as AI-driven platform players.
