Guangzhou Sensor Leader Files for HK IPO, Eyes Robotics Growth
A touchable companion robot that provides emotional value recently debuted in Shenzhen, powered by flexible sensors—often called "electronic skin"—supplied by Audiwei, a Guangzhou-based sensor leader. The company has now filed for a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, aiming to accelerate its push into robotics and secure new revenue streams. This strategic move aligns with the rapidly growing demand for tactile sensing in robots, as manufacturers seek to create more interactive and human-like machines. Audiwei's sensors have already been integrated into prototype companion robots, showcasing their potential in real-world applications.
According to Audiwei's prospectus, sensors remain its core business, generating 5.73 billion yuan in 2025, or 83.9% of total revenue, while actuators accounted for 13.0%. The company's flexible sensor technology, often dubbed "electronic skin," enables robots to perceive touch, pressure, and temperature, allowing for more natural and emotionally resonant interactions. Historically focused on automotive and consumer electronics, Audiwei is now pivoting toward robotics, betting on the sector's explosive growth. The IPO proceeds are expected to fund R&D and production capacity expansion, positioning the company as a key enabler in the robotics supply chain.
